“… geography has a way to go before it can claim to have transcended its imperial histories”. Jazeel, T. (2017) Mainstreaming geography’s decolonial imperative

Why do we need to decolonise geography? Members of the DECOLONISING GEOGRAPHY group will discuss this question and share our activities.

We’ve been:

– challenging the language, concepts and contexts of white geography

– developing the #VoicesProject to centre marginalised voices through participatory oral histories and

– working with an examination board to decolonise GCSE assessments
