Are you interested in anti-racist education? Do you want to celebrate diversity in your teaching? Have you got ideas and resources you could share with other teachers?
As part of Sheffield Anti-Racist Education’´s fortnight of activities, we are organising an online teach-meet. It will take place at 5:00 on Wednesday 4th November.
6 participants will offer a 5 to10-minute online workshop where you can share resources, Schemes of Work, particular experiences, poems and literature to help further decolonise the English curriculum and promote anti-racism in our subject. Contributions so far will include:
· 10 minutes on Urban slang and decolonising language.
· The poetry of Edward Kamau Brathwaite and ways to use it with students.
· Challenging racism while teaching Victorian literature.
We are excited about holding a diverse and useful teach-meet so please get in touch to sign up or with ideas or offers of contribution.
